The West Nordic Council operates in accordance with the Charter of 1997.
The Annual General Meeting is the Council's highest authority.
The purpose of the Theme Conferences is to clarify and to discuss subjects of the Council's choice. The conferences, then, serve to provide a basis for possible recommendations to the member countries' parliaments.
The Council may engage in other relevant and important activities of interest to West Nordic or North Atlantic, cooperation.
It is not possible for the West Nordic Council to grant direct financial aid or support to projects.
